The den/playroom is probably the room that gets used the most around here. Maybe in second place to the kitchen? It's close.
It was one of the first room we "moved into" because it's where we keep the kids toys, the tv and has great big windows that open to the front yard. Now after being in there a little, we've done some tweaks to make it a little more cozy.
When we moved in I hung a picture that Ami didn't love, then turned it on it's side, and he still didn't love it, so we just moved it to a different room (the office, upstairs) and got something new. I painted the simple table white, added in some more seating - the ottoman and a white (Real Bentwood Thonet!) chair that the owners left, and of course the kiddie size comfy chair from Uncle Elan and Tia Liz for the babies.
We unpacked and added more toys and decorations to the built in shelves, and I'm still looking for the right thing above the TV (the shelf can come down). Ideas?
Also up on the wall came Ami's banjo and a whiteboard to keep track of all of our ever growing house to-do list.
We love this room! Down the line, I would like to have a big cozy sectional couch, to paint the built in dresser white, and to take down the wallpaper....one day.
